QCEN and OH-KY-IN Present 2018 Winter Field Day!!!

Hello Winter Field Day enthusiasts!

Despite all of the rumors that we aren’t going to participate in the Winter Field Day event we have been given a second life!  Due to an unreasonable price hike from the Hamilton County Park District we were going to have cancel the event this year.  Fortunately for us QCEN stepped in and offered their facility for both clubs to have a joint field day operation at their radio room on the American Red Cross campus.

So no worries about freezing this year we will be in a nice cozy building.  Like in previous years we will be serving lunch and dinner on Saturday for the operators that come out to work.  On Sunday we will have Doughnuts for breakfast from “Stan the Man” Doughnut shop – Stan was voted 2017 Best Bakery in the North!

Location:                             American Red Cross Building

Address:                              2111 Dana Ave.  Cincinnati, OH 45207

Date:                                     January 27 and 28, 2018

Time:                                    Lunch at 12 noon on 1/27/18

Contest Time:                    Saturday 1/27 at 2 PM through Sunday 1/28 – 2 PM

As many know me, I am not a big sign-up sheet man!  We are all amateur radio operators that love our hobby and love promoting it.  All I ask is when someone new walks up while you are working offer them the opportunity to take the mic.  This plan has worked great for the last two years and that way no one feels like they are locked in and can’t get up and take a break!

This year we will form a committee to find an outdoor spot for the 2019 Winter Field Day but in the mean time I hope that you come join us at the Red Cross building for this joint club event!  If I can ask one favor even if you think that you might come please shoot me an e-mail so that we have plenty food available.  My contact information is listed below!

Thanks and hope to see you there!
